Sometimes we have a set perception of who we are and what we are meant to be doing at a particular time. However, the circumstances mean it just isn’t possible…
As a business leader, you know that the priority is to achieve that customer deliverable. Sometimes, there is so much discord and distraction within your organisation, challenging people to where you know they are capable but don’t understand it themselves is just a step too far.
Sometimes… we just have to deal with the noise and resolve it so the benefit is ongoing, longer term and better established. Do you know what I mean?
It’s Ramadan for me and typically I would be fasting and adding extra prayers with my time. However, with three children and home obligations, breastfeeding a young one, it isn’t possible to fast nor is it easy to accommodate additional prayers. This is the typical expectation that I am missing out on when it cannot be achieved…
However, as much as the leadership example, I am doing for my family and this will reap better rewards in the future. Even my acts at home with my children are rewarded as this is innate, something I need to do, but they are a duty that is necessary and my religion sees this as worship.
Sometimes… whatever we are doing, we have to look at the bigger picture and in the round.
Sometimes… things are appreciated without us fully acknowledging them ourselves.
I don’t ever post about Religion, but it just occurred to me that there is good in anything you do as a leader with your organisation using empathy and emotional intelligence. Do the right things and everything that you expected, will just follow.
